CUMBERLAND Vid INC MAINE 1821 PUBLIC NOTICE TOWN OF CUMBERLAND 2023 SHELLFISH LICENSES In accordance with the provisions of the Shellfish Conservation Ordinance, the Town of Cumberland hereby gives notice that there will be unlimited resident recreational licenses for the year 2023. There will be 25 Non-Resident recreational licenses drawn by lottery on January 5, 2023, at 9:00 a.m. in the Council Chambers. There will be 1 resident commercial license and there will also be 1 non-resident commercial license drawn by lottery on January 5, 2023, at 9:00 a.m. in the Council Chambers at the Cumberland Town Office, 290 Tuttle Road, Cumberland, Maine. There will be 8 resident monthly recreational and 2 non-resident monthly recreational licenses. Resident Recreational Shellfish Licenses will be sold beginning, Tuesday, January 3, 2023. Monthly licenses will be issued each month during January-September with conditional area 4 closures from October 1- November 30, 2023. The flats will reopen on December 1, 2023, (closures are determined by DMR and based on many factors). Monthly recreational licenses will not be available until the first business day of each month. A completed shellfish application must be on file with the Town Clerk before a license will be issued. The Town Clerks office is located at 290 Tuttle Road, Cumberland. Office hours are 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m., Monday-Wednesday; 8:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. Thursdays.
