WORKFORCE Beginner Guitar Those with a little or no experience will learn the chords, skills, and techniques that are a strong foundation for starting your guitar playing journey. Dates: Tuesdays, February 11-March 10 Time: 6:30 to 8:00 p.m. Cost: $60 Substitute Teacher Preparation Class There is an urgent need for substitute teachers locally and in area school districts. This class will walk you through the steps you need to become a substitute teacher. Dates: Tue. and Thu., January 28 & 30 Times: 6:00-8:00 pm. Cost: $29 Beyond Beginner Guitar Further develop your guitar playing skills and improve your understanding of the guitar fret board. Dates: Tuesdays, March 17-April 7 Time: 6:30 to 8:00 p.m. Cost: $60 CDL-B Driver Preparation Class There are many open jobs in the bus and truck driving fields in Maine. Dates: Mon. through Thu., April 27-30 Times: 5:00-8:00 p.m. (workforce training: 5:00-6:00; class: 6:00-8:00) Cost: FREE Fiction Writing Club This is a hands-on writing class that is guaranteed to inspire your imagination and flame your creativity: Dates: Tuesdays, February 25-April 14 Time: 6:30-8:30 p.m. Cost: $79 EDUCATION HISET/Accuplacer Preparation Class If you did not earn your high school diploma, the HISET (High School Equivalency Test) is a test you can take to earn the equivalency of the diploma. Dates: Tuesdays and Thursdays, January 14-May 7 Time: 5:00-7:30 p.m. Cost: Free First Aid and CPR Learn both in theory and hands-on applications. Completers will receive their American Red Cross certificate in standard First Aid for Adults, CPR and AED. Dates: Tue. and Thu., March 17 & 19 Time: 5:30-8:00 p.m. Cost: $79 Math Lab for HISET/Accuplacer Students who take this class will strengthen their Math skills to put themselves in a position to pass the Math portion of the HISET and/or the Accuplacer exam (for SMCC) or to get ready for college level Math. Dates: Tuesdays and Thursdays, January 14-May 7 Time: 5:30-7:45 p.m. Cost: Free ONE NIGHT POP-UP CLASSES Juuling, Vaping and other Current Drug Issues If you are wondering about how serious the issue is and what you might do about it, this session will fill you with information about the problem in our society. Date: Tue., April 14 Time: 6:00-8:00 p.m. Cost: Free English Language Learner Evening Classes Learn and improve your English. We offer day and evening classes. Go Fish - Spin Casting for Striped Bass With Spring in Maine in full bloom, perhaps you have wanted to start a new hobby - fishing.
