Public Notice The Portland Water District / Westbrook-Gorham Wastewater Treatment Facility (MEPDES License #ME0100846) is providing public notice of Industrial Users that were in Significant Non-Compliance with pretreatment standards and requirements during the pretreatment year from September 1, 2018 - August 31, 2019. Pretreatment standards and requirements have been adopted by the Portland Water District and City of Westbrook in order to ensure the continued safe operation of the sewer system and associated treatment works, and to protect the receiving water (Presumpscot River) Schlotterbeck and Foss was in Significant Non-Compliance for violations that led to a sanitary sewer overflow in December 2018 at the City of Westbrook's Finch Street pump station. Schlotterbeck and Foss was also in Significant Non-Compliance for violations of the Westbrook ordinance limit for oil and grease. The Portland Water District and Schlotterbeck and Foss entered into a consent agreement in February 2019 to address these violations.
