Community Coming Together @ Congregational Church in Cumberland Although the loss and division of the past year and more haven't ended, let's celebrate the resiliency of our community. Please join us as we return to our sanctuary and honor some of the local heroes who've brought us through tough times. We'll rejoice at special worship services, the Town of Cumberland's 200th Birthday Party, and free Community Coming-Together Concerts. JOIN US FOR ONE OR ALL OF THESE EVENTS: SUNDAY, SEPTEMBER 12: A homecoming worship service at 9:30 am will be followed by Toots Ice Cream on the lawn and a 10:45 am performance by the Partial Breakdown Bluegrass Band. SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 18: We'll be at the Town of Cumberland's Bicentennial Celebration at the Twin Brook Recreation Area between X and Y pm. We'll challenge children of all ages to crawl through a Seven Element Obstacle Course and invite folks to post a note of gratitude. SUNDAY, SEPTEMBER 19: The 9:30 am worship service will honor Cumberland police officers, firefighters, and EMT's. At 4:00 pm, the New Moon Ensemble will present a concert of Guinea-style West African drumming and dance, and food trucks will purvey a variety of savories and sweets. SUNDAY, SEPTEMBER 26: The 9:30 am worship service will honor sanitation workers, grocery-store staff, delivery people, and other essential workers. At 10:45 am, after the service, Primo Cubano will perform on the lawn, and there will be a salsa bar. SUNDAY, OCTOBER 3: The 9:30 am worship service will honor the teachers, administrators, and staff of MSAD #51. At 4:00 pm, the Pihcintu Multi-Cultural Girls' Chorus will perform. After the concert, there will be Pat's pizza, salad, and dessert for all. Thanks to Toots Ice Cream and Pat's Pizza for their support! Masks will be worn indoors and Covid Safety precautions followed. All Community Coming-Together Concerts of the Congregational Church in Cumberland will be performed outdoors if weather permits and indoors if it doesn't.
